Cartesian plane

The Cartesian plane is a two-dimensional space defined by two perpendicular lines: the horizontal x-axis and the vertical y-axis. These lines intersect at a point called the origin, which has coordinates (0, 0). The plane is divided into four areas, called quadrants, where each quadrant contains points represented by ordered pairs (x, y). This system allows us to accurately describe locations and relationships between points in space, making it essential in mathematics, physics, engineering, and various fields for graphing equations and visualizing data.
