Cardiac Arrest Management
Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops beating effectively, leading to a loss of blood flow to vital organs. Immediate management involves calling emergency services, starting CPR (chest compressions) to maintain blood flow, and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) if available to restore a normal heart rhythm. CPR should be performed at a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute. The priority is to act quickly, as brain damage can occur within minutes without oxygen. Advanced medical help will take over upon arrival, providing further treatment to revive the heart and stabilize the patient.
