Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants

The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) was a professional organization in Canada responsible for the regulation, education, and support of Chartered Accountants (CAs). Established to maintain high standards in the accounting profession, it provided guidelines for accounting practices and promoted ethical behavior among its members. In 2013, CICA merged with several other accounting bodies to form the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), which now sets professional standards for all accounting professionals in Canada. This transition aimed to unify the profession and enhance the credibility and effectiveness of accounting practices nationwide.
