In Canada, accounting professionals are guided by two main organizations. Chartered Professional Accountants (CPAs) oversee the standards for accounting, auditing, and financial reporting, ensuring ethical and professional conduct. The Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) sets national policies and standards. Alternatively, the Chartered Accountants (CAs) designation, historically used before the CPA integration, is now part of the CPA credential. These bodies regulate education, certification, and ongoing professional development, ensuring accountants provide reliable, consistent financial services across the country.
