BVM (Bag-Valve-Mask)

A Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) is a medical device used to assist or provide breathing for patients who are not able to breathe on their own. It consists of a flexible bag, a unidirectional valve, and a facial mask. The bag is squeezed to push air into the lungs through the mask, which is fitted over the patient’s nose and mouth to create a seal. BVMs are commonly used in emergencies, such as cardiac arrest or severe respiratory distress, by healthcare professionals to ensure that the patient receives adequate oxygen until further medical help can be provided.
