Burhanpur Fort

Burhanpur Fort, located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, is a historical fortress built in the 15th century by the Malwa rulers. It was strategically important due to its position on trade routes and served as a retreat for the Mughal emperors. The fort showcases impressive architecture, including massive walls and intricate gateways, reflecting the blend of Islamic and Hindu styles. Notably, Burhanpur was also a site where Emperor Shah Jahan built the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, before constructing the Taj Mahal.
