Bulbar palsy is a neurological condition that affects the muscles responsible for speaking, swallowing, and breathing by damaging the brainstem, which controls these functions. It often results from diseases like ALS or brainstem strokes. Symptoms may include slurred speech, difficulty swallowing (which can lead to choking), and weakened facial muscles.
