Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT)
Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) is a project delivery method commonly used for large infrastructure projects. In this arrangement, a private entity is given the responsibility to design, construct, and operate a facility for a specified period. After this operational phase, the ownership and management of the facility are transferred to the government or other designated authority. This model allows governments to leverage private investment and expertise while ensuring that essential services or infrastructure are developed efficiently. It’s often used in projects like roads, bridges, and power plants to support public needs without upfront public funding.
