Brugada syndrome

Brugada syndrome is a heart condition that can cause dangerous irregular heartbeats, leading to fainting or even sudden cardiac arrest. It is often inherited and primarily affects men. The syndrome is characterized by specific changes on an electrocardiogram (ECG), particularly in the heart's electrical signals. While some people may have no symptoms, others may experience episodes of rapid heartbeat or collapse. Treatment options include lifestyle changes, medications, and sometimes the implantation of a device called an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) to prevent life-threatening arrhythmias.
