British Colonial Forces

British Colonial Forces were military units raised by Britain during its colonial period, primarily from the late 17th to the mid-20th century. These forces included local soldiers and units from various British colonies, tasked with maintaining order, protecting colonial interests, and engaging in conflicts. They played significant roles in both colonial administration and in imperial wars. As the British Empire expanded, these forces often reflected the diverse populations of the colonies, incorporating indigenous troops alongside British personnel. Over time, many of these forces evolved into national armies after the end of colonial rule.
