Bunker Hill, often referred to as Breed's Hill, was the site of a significant battle during the American Revolutionary War on June 17, 1775. Although the battle is named after Bunker Hill, most of the fighting occurred on Breed's Hill, located in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The colonial forces faced British troops as they attempted to hold their positions against a more experienced army. Despite ultimately losing the battle, the American troops demonstrated they could stand up to British forces, boosting their confidence and resolve in the fight for independence.
