Brain Structure and Function
The brain is a complex organ made up of billions of neurons that communicate through electrical and chemical signals. It has different regions, each responsible for specific functions. The cerebral cortex manages higher functions like thinking and decision-making; the limbic system regulates emotions and memory; and the brainstem controls basic life functions, like breathing and heartbeat. The cerebellum coordinates movement and balance. Together, these areas enable us to think, feel, move, and respond to our environment, making the brain essential for daily functioning and overall well-being.
