neuron

A neuron is a specialized cell in your nervous system that transmits information through electrical and chemical signals. It has three main parts: the cell body, which processes information; dendrites, which receive signals from other neurons; and the axon, which sends signals to other neurons or muscles. When a neuron receives a signal, it creates an electrical impulse that travels along the axon to communicate with the next cell, enabling functions like thinking, feeling, and moving. Neurons work together in complex networks to control everything your body and mind do.
