Bosnian War
The Bosnian War (1992-1995) was a conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina following the breakup of Yugoslavia. It involved ethnic groups—Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs—fighting over control of the territory. The war was marked by severe violence, including ethnic cleansing, and aimed at establishing ethnically homogeneous areas. International efforts led to the Dayton Accords in 1995, which ended the conflict and established a complex government structure to maintain peace. The war’s legacy includes significant human suffering, dislocation, and the need for ongoing reconciliation.
