Bodo people
The Bodo people are an indigenous group primarily found in Northeast India, particularly in Assam and parts of neighboring states. They speak the Bodo language, which belongs to the Tibeto-Burman language family. Traditionally, many Bodo are farmers and fishermen, maintaining a rich cultural heritage with unique festivals, dances, and crafts. Over time, they have sought political recognition for their identity and rights within India. Their history is marked by struggles for cultural preservation and autonomy, and they play a significant role in the region’s social and political landscape today.
