Blood Vessel Function
Blood vessels are the body's transportation system. They carry blood throughout the body, delivering oxygen and nutrients to cells while removing waste products. There are three main types of blood vessels: arteries, which carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart; veins, which bring oxygen-poor blood back to the heart; and capillaries, tiny vessels that connect arteries and veins, where the actual exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and waste occurs. Proper function of blood vessels is crucial for overall health, as they ensure that every part of the body receives what it needs to function effectively.
