Black women's clubs
Black women’s clubs emerged in the 19th and early 20th centuries as vital organizations for social, political, and educational advancement. These clubs provided a platform for Black women to address issues such as racial discrimination, economic inequality, and access to education. They fostered community support, leadership development, and civic engagement, often advocating for civil rights and social reform. Prominent among them were the National Association of Colored Women, which played a crucial role in the suffrage movement. Today, these organizations continue to empower Black women and address contemporary societal challenges.
