Black Liberation Army
The Black Liberation Army (BLA) was an underground revolutionary organization active in the 1970s and early 1980s in the United States. It aimed to challenge systemic racism, police violence, and injustices faced by Black communities through armed resistance, including bombings, robberies, and attacks on government and law enforcement targets. The BLA believed that violent protest was necessary to achieve Black liberation and social change. It operated independently of mainstream civil rights groups and has been classified as a domestic terrorist organization due to its use of violence.
