Black-bellied Bustard
The Black-bellied Bustard, also known as the Black-bellied Korhaan, is a large bird native to southern Africa. It typically inhabits open grasslands and savannas, where it prefers to walk rather than fly. This bird is notable for its striking appearance, featuring a black belly, a brown and white body, and a distinctive call. Males are about twice the size of females and exhibit elaborate courtship displays. The Black-bellied Bustard primarily feeds on insects and plants, playing a role in its ecosystem. Sadly, habitat loss threatens its population, making conservation efforts important.
