Biogas plants
Biogas plants are facilities that convert organic waste, such as food scraps or animal manure, into biogas through a natural process called anaerobic digestion. In this process, microorganisms break down the waste in a sealed environment, producing methane-rich gas that can be used as renewable energy for cooking, electricity, or heating. The leftover material, known as digestate, can be used as a nutrient-rich fertilizer. Biogas plants help reduce waste, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and provide a sustainable energy source, contributing to environmental conservation and energy independence.
