Biafran Army

The Biafran Army was the military force representing the Republic of Biafra, a secessionist state that existed from 1967 to 1970 in southeastern Nigeria. It was formed by Biafran leaders to defend their territory during the Nigerian Civil War, following a declaration of independence by Biafra. The army fought against Nigerian government forces in a conflict marked by significant humanitarian crises, including widespread famine. Despite efforts to establish a separate nation, Biafra was reintegrated into Nigeria in 1970. The Biafran Army remains a symbol of regional identity and independence aspirations for many in southeastern Nigeria.
