Berlin Flakt Towers
The Berlin Flakt Towers are massive concrete structures built in Berlin during World War II as part of the city's air defense system. Constructed between 1940 and 1943, these towers housed anti-aircraft guns and provided shelter for civilians during air raids. There are three main towers: in the Tiergarten park, the Friedrichshain park, and the Humboldthain park. Their imposing design reflects the era's militarization and are remnants of wartime architecture. Today, they are historical landmarks, with some areas open to the public, offering insights into Berlin's history during the war and the city’s recovery thereafter.
