Vienna (Flakt Tower)
Vienna's Flaktower, also known as the "Flak Tower," is a large concrete anti-aircraft fortress built during World War II. It was part of a series of towers designed to provide air defense against Allied bombers. The tower, located in the city's Prater park, is notable for its massive size and distinctive architecture. After the war, it was repurposed and now serves various functions, including a unique urban wildlife habitat. Today, the Flaktower stands as a historical monument, reflecting Austria's complex past and the evolution of urban spaces post-war.
