batteries
Batteries are devices that store chemical energy and convert it into electrical energy to power devices. Inside, they contain chemicals called electrolytes and electrodes (usually made of metals) that react chemically to produce a flow of electrons, creating an electric current. When you connect a battery to a device, this current flows through the circuit, providing power. Batteries are portable sources of energy used in everything from smartphones to vehicles. Over time, the chemical reactions diminish, and the battery's capacity decreases, eventually needing replacement or recharging (for rechargeable types).
