Bantu Education

Bantu Education was a system of education implemented in South Africa from the 1950s, designed to segregate and control black South African students. It aimed to teach them only skills suitable for manual labor and limit their academic opportunities, reinforcing racial inequalities. The curriculum was heavily focused on Afrikaans and limited subjects like science and mathematics. This policy was part of the broader apartheid regime, which sought to maintain white supremacy. Bantu Education restricted educational access for black individuals and perpetuated poverty and social disadvantage, leading to widespread protests and resistance against the apartheid system.
