backstroke

Backstroke is a swimming technique where you lie on your back and move through the water using alternating arm strokes and a flutter kick. The arms rotate backward in a continuous motion, pulling water back to propel you forward, while your legs kick in a steady, rapid rhythm. Your head stays relaxed and mostly above water, with your face looking up. Breathing is natural and unobstructed, making it easier to breathe compared to other strokes. Backstroke is often used for training, competitive swimming, and as a recovery stroke due to its smooth, efficient motion.
