Babinski reflex
The Babinski reflex is a natural response observed in infants and sometimes in adults under certain neurological conditions. When the sole of the foot is gently stroked, an infant will typically fan their toes outward and back, indicating a healthy nervous system. In adults, the same stimulation usually causes the toes to curl inward. The presence of the Babinski reflex in adults might suggest nerve damage or neurological issues. This reflex is often used by doctors to assess neurological health, especially in infants, as it typically disappears as the nervous system matures.
