AVOD business models
AVOD, or Advertising Video on Demand, is a business model where consumers can access video content for free, but with advertisements interspersed throughout. Unlike subscription services that charge a fee, AVOD platforms rely on advertisers who pay to showcase their ads to viewers. This model allows users to watch movies, TV shows, or other videos without a subscription cost, making it accessible to a wide audience. The trade-off is that viewers experience interruptions from ads, which help generate revenue for the platform and content creators. Examples include YouTube and Pluto TV.
