Assyrian nationalism
Assyrian nationalism is the movement advocating for the self-determination and preservation of the Assyrian people, an ethnic group with ancient roots in the Middle East, particularly in modern-day Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. This nationalism seeks to promote Assyrian identity, language, culture, and rights, especially in the face of historical persecution and displacement. Assyrians often emphasize their distinct heritage as descendants of one of the world's earliest civilizations. The movement includes calls for greater political representation, cultural preservation, and, in some cases, the establishment of an independent Assyrian state.
