Ararat Genocide Memorial

The Ararat Genocide Memorial, located in Yerevan, Armenia, commemorates the victims of the Armenian Genocide, which occurred during World War I when about 1.5 million Armenians were systematically killed by the Ottoman Empire. The memorial features a poignant design that includes a hill shaped like Mount Ararat, a symbol of Armenian identity, and twelve vertical stelae representing the twelve provinces lost to Armenians. It serves not only as a tribute to the victims but also as a reminder of the importance of justice, recognition, and remembrance in overcoming historical atrocities.
