Appellee
An appellee is the party in a legal case who responds to an appeal made by another party, known as the appellant. When a lower court's decision is challenged, the appellee aims to uphold that decision. Essentially, if someone believes a court ruling was incorrect and asks a higher court to review it, the appellee defends the original ruling, arguing that it was right and should remain unchanged. In short, the appellee is the one who stands by the original verdict and seeks to maintain it in the appellate process.
