Antidiuretic Hormone

Antidiuretic hormone (ADH), also known as vasopressin, is a hormone produced by the hypothalamus and released by the pituitary gland. Its main role is to regulate the body’s water balance. When you’re dehydrated or your blood becomes too concentrated, ADH signals the kidneys to reabsorb more water, reducing urine output and helping maintain hydration. Conversely, when you're well-hydrated, less ADH is released, leading to more urine production. This hormone plays a crucial role in maintaining blood pressure and fluid balance in the body.
