animal cell

An animal cell is a basic unit of life found in animals, including humans. It has several important parts, called organelles, each performing specific functions. The cell membrane surrounds and protects the cell, allowing substances in and out. The nucleus contains the cell's genetic material and controls its activities. Mitochondria provide energy, while ribosomes help build proteins. Other organelles, like the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, assist in processing and transporting materials. Unlike plant cells, animal cells lack a rigid cell wall and chloroplasts, focusing instead on varying shapes and flexibility to suit different roles in the organism.
