Amnesty
Amnesty is a formal pardon granted by a government or authority that officially forgives individuals or groups for specific actions, often related to political offenses or crimes. It typically results in the removal of legal penalties and can restore rights or status. Amnesty is often used to promote national reconciliation, encourage peaceful resolution of conflicts, or address past injustices. Unlike general clemency, which may be limited to mercy or reduction of punishment, amnesty involves a blanket forgiveness for particular behaviors, effectively erasing the legal blame from those affected.
