Altitude-Azimuth System

The Altitude-Azimuth System is a way to pinpoint objects in the sky using two measurements: altitude and azimuth. Altitude refers to how high an object is above the horizon, measured in degrees from 0° (horizon) to 90° (directly overhead). Azimuth indicates the direction to the object, measured clockwise from true north, ranging from 0° to 360°. Together, these two measurements help astronomers and navigators locate stars, planets, and other celestial objects accurately in the sky. This system is commonly used in telescopes and navigation to provide precise coordinates for viewing or tracking.
