Afghanistan War
The Afghanistan War began in 2001 when the U.S. and its allies invaded Afghanistan to dismantle the Taliban regime, which had provided shelter to al-Qaeda after the September 11 attacks. The goal was to eliminate terrorist threats and establish a stable government. The conflict evolved into a prolonged struggle against the Taliban and other insurgent groups. Despite military efforts, Afghanistan faced political instability, corruption, and ongoing violence. The U.S. officially withdrew its troops in 2021, leading to the Taliban's swift return to power, raising concerns about human rights and security in the region.
