9th Queen's Royal Lancers

The 9th Queen's Royal Lancers is a British cavalry regiment, originally formed in 1715. They have a distinguished history, participating in numerous conflicts, including the Napoleonic Wars and both World Wars, adapting from traditional cavalry roles to modern armored units. Known for their distinctive uniforms and ceremonial duties, the Lancers were also involved in peacekeeping operations and the Gulf War. In 2015, the regiment merged with the 12th Royal Lancers to become part of the Royal Lancers (The Queen's Bday Lancers), continuing the legacy of armored cavalry in the British Army.
