Acute wounds
Acute wounds are injuries that occur suddenly and have clear, identifiable causes, such as cuts, scrapes, or burns. They typically result from accidents, falls, or surgical procedures and show signs of healing within a short period. Acute wounds usually go through the normal stages of healing—hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling—over days to weeks. Proper care, such as cleaning and dressing the wound, helps prevent infection and promotes healing. Most acute wounds heal completely with minimal complications, restoring normal tissue function.
