Acid reflux

Acid reflux occurs when stomach acid flows backward into the esophagus, the tube connecting your mouth to your stomach. This backflow can cause a burning sensation known as heartburn and may lead to irritation or damage of the esophageal lining over time. Factors such as a weakened lower esophageal sphincter, certain foods, obesity, or lying down after meals can contribute to reflux. It’s a common condition that can often be managed with lifestyle changes, medications, or medical advice to reduce symptoms and prevent complications.
