2. Khodorkovsky, Mikhail - Businessman
Mikhail Khodorkovsky is a Russian businessman and former oil tycoon, known for leading the Yukos oil company during the 1990s. He became one of Russia’s wealthiest individuals but fell afoul of the government under President Vladimir Putin. In 2003, Khodorkovsky was arrested on charges of fraud and tax evasion, which many critics believe were politically motivated due to his opposition to Putin. After spending over a decade in prison, he was released in 2013, and he has since become an advocate for democracy and human rights, living in exile and speaking out against the Russian government.
