Zwingli (Huldrych Zwingli)
Huldrych Zwingli was a Swiss Protestant reformer in the early 16th century who led efforts to reform the Catholic Church in Switzerland. Inspired by the broader Protestant movement, he emphasized the authority of Scripture, rejected many traditional church practices like relics and fasting, and promoted the idea that salvation comes through faith alone. Zwingli's teachings influenced the development of Reformed Christianity and contributed to the broader Protestant Reformation. His approach differed from Martin Luther mainly in how he interpreted the Eucharist, advocating a symbolic understanding rather than a literal presence of Christ.
