Zoo Hypothesis
The Zoo Hypothesis suggests that extraterrestrial civilizations are aware of Earth and its inhabitants but choose not to contact us, much like zookeepers observing animals quietly behind the scenes. This behavior could be intentional, aimed at allowing human civilization to develop naturally without interference, or to prevent cultural contamination. It assumes advanced civilizations may develop ethical guidelines or policies to avoid disrupting less developed societies, including Earth. Essentially, the hypothesis proposes that these extraterrestrial observers are intentionally “staying quiet” to respect our independence, which could explain why we have not yet received or detected any clear signals from other intelligent life.
