ZOB (Jewish Combat Organisation)
The Jewish Combat Organization (ZOB) was a clandestine group formed during the Holocaust in 1942, primarily in Nazi-occupied Poland. Its purpose was to organize resistance and carry out acts of sabotage against Nazi forces and infrastructure to oppose their efforts to exterminate the Jewish population. The ZOB played a crucial role in efforts such as the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943, when Jewish fighters launched a courageous revolt against the occupying German forces. Although ultimately overwhelmed, the ZOB exemplified armed resistance, aiming to defend Jewish lives and dignity amid unimaginable oppression.
