Zhou literature

Zhou literature refers to the body of written works produced during the Zhou Dynasty in ancient China, which lasted from approximately 1046 to 256 BCE. This period saw significant development in poetry, philosophy, and historical writings. The "Shijing" (Book of Songs) and philosophical texts like the "Dao De Jing" by Laozi emerged from this era, influencing Chinese thought. Zhou literature reflects the social, political, and cultural values of the time, emphasizing morality, governance, and harmony with nature. It laid the groundwork for later Chinese literary and philosophical traditions.
