
Zhetysu
Zhetysu, also known as Semirechye, is a historical region located in southeastern Kazakhstan, extending into parts of Kyrgyzstan. It is characterized by fertile plains and a favorable climate, making it an important agricultural area. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, including the Tien Shan range, Zhetysu has a rich history as a crossroads of different cultures and civilizations. Its name means "Seven Rivers," referencing the numerous rivers flowing through the region, which have supported local communities for centuries.
