Zambezi River
The Zambezi River is a major river in southern Africa, stretching about 2,574 kilometers (1,599 miles). It originates in Zambia and flows southeast, passing through several countries including Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique before reaching the Indian Ocean. The river is famous for creating the impressive Victoria Falls, one of the largest and most spectacular waterfalls in the world. It plays a vital role in providing water for agriculture, hydroelectric power (notably the Kariba and Cahora Bassa dams), and supporting diverse wildlife and ecosystems along its course.
