Yutu (Jade Rabbit)

Yutu, or the Jade Rabbit, is a mythological creature from Chinese folklore believed to live on the Moon alongside the Moon goddess Chang’e. Described as a white rabbit, Yutu is said to constantly pound ingredients for the elixir of immortality with a mortar and pestle, symbolizing eternal life and lunar symbolism. Historically, the rabbit has been linked to the Moon across many Asian cultures. In modern times, Yutu is also the name of China's lunar missions, including lunar rovers, embodying exploration and scientific discovery beyond myth.
