Yugoslav People's Army

The Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) was the military force of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1945 to 1992. Established after World War II, it aimed to defend the state and maintain unity among its diverse ethnic groups. The JNA played a significant role during the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s, which followed the country's breakup into several independent nations. Initially, the army was seen as a unifying force, but it eventually became associated with controversial actions during the conflicts. The JNA formally disbanded in 1992 as Yugoslavia dissolved into multiple countries.
