Yorkist
The Yorkists were a faction in England during the late 15th century, primarily involved in the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars for control of the English throne. They were supporters of the House of York, a royal family branch that claimed descent from Edward III. Opposing them were the Lancastrians, who supported the House of Lancaster. Key figures included Edward IV and Richard III. The conflict stemmed from disputes over rightful kingship, leading to battles, political intrigue, and significant shifts in power until the Lancastrians ultimately triumphed at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485.
