Yezidis

Yazidis are a religious minority primarily from Iraq, with communities in Syria, Turkey, Armenia, and the diaspora. Their faith blends elements of ancient Mesopotamian religions, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Islam, centered around beliefs in a supreme God and seven divine beings called "Melek Taus" or the Peacock Angel. Yazidis practice unique rituals and celebrate their own festivals, with language primarily in Kurmanji Kurdish. Historically, they’ve faced persecution and discrimination, notably from ISIS, which targeted their community, highlighting their resilience and the importance of cultural preservation.
